Northumberland Street is well situated for the able bodied person, however we took elderly relatives who could not manage to climb the hill into town. The local buses did pass by the corner of the street and run frequently so this did not stop them going out. We had a good welcome from Katie and the amentities within the flat were excellent. There was a problem with the central heating that was fixed with 8 hours of reporting it. Edinburgh is a great city with very friendly people. Best eating place was the Conan Doyle public house within 5-10 minutes walk from the flat.
