The street has been used in several period dramas due to its much charm and character and possesses many interesting shops and boutiques worthy of a visit. The area is scattered with great restaurants bistros and cafes. From Princes Street you can catch buses to all parts of the city and to and from the airport. Both train stations into the capital are about 10 minutes walk making this an ideal base to explore Edinburgh.

A car isn't necessary as most of the main tourist attractions are within easy walking distance and with the amount of road works going on in Edinburgh it's a good idea to not bring one. On street parking is available but costly in the city centre. A multi storey car park with parking at more reasonable rates is situated 5 minutes walk away in the shadow of the castle.
