This wonderful cottage is a real treat to stay in. It is warm, cosy, very welcoming and beautifully furnished. It has recently been totally refurbished to a high standard and thoughtfully decorated. Light the wood burning stove sit back and enjoy a hot chocolate in the evenings or have a lazy day escape for those wet mornings when you don’t feel like venturing out too early.

The cottage is located in the Trinity area of Edinburgh, enclosed in it’s own private garden in a quiet neighborhood of charming houses and gardens.

Although a bit beyond  our usual city centre locations it is particularly ideal if you wish to be in Edinburgh but not too close to all the hussle and bussle of the city being a short bus ride from the centre. To get in to town there is a bus stop very near by. The number 23 bus which takes you right through the city centre and is arguably one of the best routes in Edinburgh with stops at many of the major shopping streets, tourist sights, good restaurants and pubs, all very accessible if you don’t fancy a bit of a walk or a drive.

Outside the cottage you have the garden and parking off road for 2 cars. Inside there are two bedrooms, 1 with double bed and the other with twin beds. There is a large spacious shower room and a very spacious open plan kitchen/living room. There is also a double sized sofa bed in the living room which can be used if needed. The kitchen is fully stocked with the all-important appliances and utensils you will need to cook any meal, likewise you will also find the cottage fully equipped with all other necessary appliances and utilities such as washing machine, dishwasher, iron, hair dryer etc.

As with all our properties towels, linen, heating, lighting, Wifi internet and a starter pack of tea, coffee, milk, local shortbread etc are all included. The cottage is also equipped with DVD player, a selections of DVDs, books, and board games.

The rental include hot water, gas & electricity, central heating, fluffy towels, crisp cotton linen, wireless internet and taxes.

Discounted rates are available for longer stays; please get in contact to discuss this further.

Absolutely fantastic bolt hole, lovingly kitted out. The owner has thought of everything. The open plan kitchen and living space was a tranquil haven after some busy days.

We live locally and had extended family to stay for a weekend of celebrations, and Green cottage provided two extra rooms, a retreat for the grandparents, and some much needed toddler entertaining space while I did some last minute preparations round the corner. We are so lucky to have this on our doorstep.

To people coming from further afield I would highly recommend a stay here. Although not ‘central’ it is very easy to get into town by bus, taxi, or even foot and the botanical are just on your doorstep.

    Great place.
Green cottage was a great choice for our weekend in Edinburgh. The standard of everything in the cottage is very high – central heating, hot water, kitchen, bathroom, beds, linen, decor – all quality, new fixtures. When you arrive there is whiskey, milk, shortbread, tea, coffee and other bits and pieces so you don”t have to rush out for essentials.

The location is a very pretty suburb with a great little shop on the corner which is full of treats. The 23 bus takes you straight to town in about 15 mins. While we were in Edinburgh three different people told us that the 23 is their favourite bus route. I can”t say I”d ever considered having a favourite bus route before but after staying in Green Cottage for five days I think the 23 will be mine too. And if you don”t like the idea of the bus then it”s less than £10 in a taxi. We walked it a couple of times too. It”s quite a long walk but there”s lots of nice pubs en route if you start feeling a bit faint.

Overall it”s a great place to stay. Don”t let the fact it”s out of town put you off, this is much nicer than a city centre hotel. And you never know, after a stay here you might also have a favourite bus route, which has got to be bonus.

Also Greatbase were great to deal with.

With our two yr old we needed a good living space so the warm, light and charming kitchen and sitting room was perfect. We look forward to booking in again on our next visit.
