Our vibrant Grassmarket holiday apartment sits in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle Rock and is an ideal location for those wishing to immerse themselves in the charms of Edinburgh’s historic Old Town.
The Grassmarket holiday apartment’s Edinburgh block is accessed from street level via a secure gate and two flights of stairs. The flat itself comprises a kitchen, bathroom, double bedroom and comfortable living-room which includes a sofa-bed that can be made up for an additional guest upon request.
The apartment itself has a fully-equipped kitchen with all the pots, pans and dishes you should need for home cooking away from home. The bedroom here has a double bed and views out to the castle, while the living room is streetside, overlooking West Port, and has a sofa bed to sleep an extra person.
As with all our properties, towels, linen, heating, lighting, Wi-Fi and a welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, local shortbread etc. are provided, and the rental also includes utilities and taxes. Discounted rates are available for longer stays; please contact us to discuss this further.
The flat is situated just off a historic market-square at the foot of Castle Rock. The area is alive with restaurants, cafes and bars, and is a great place to soak up the atmosphere. A short walk up Victoria street will take guests to George IV Bridge and the Royal Mile where you can eat, shop or take in any of the capital’s world-renowned attractions. The apartment is also perfect for those with a fondness for the dramatic arts, as the Lyceum, Traverse Theatre and Usher Hall are all just around the corner. Paid on-street parking (free from 6.30pm until 8.30am and Sundays). Long-stay car park on Riego Street, which is less than 5 minutes walk.
Grassmarket in Edinburgh
The Grassmarket is an area with strong links to much of Edinburgh’s past. The site is located just inside both the Flodden and Telfer walls, two of Edinburgh’s original city boundaries, parts of which can still be seen in the vicinity. The Grassmarket is home to a vast array of cafes, pubs and restaurants, making it a catering hotspot and an ideal retreat after exploring the nooks and crannies of the Old Town.
One member of the booking party must be over 25 years old. We reserve the right to vet any booking. We require names and ages of all guests, as well as addresses and ID.
This apartment is not suitable for stag or hen parties. A damage deposit of £250 is required one week before arrival and will be fully refunded pending no damages one week after your departure. Alternatively, we can offer you an insurance policy to cover damages and excess cleaning. The cost of the policy will vary depending on the length of your stay.

We meet and welcome all our guests to introduce you to the apartment, hand over keys and answer any questions. We can also arrange self check-in, please let us know if you would prefer this option.
Our guests are welcome to store the luggage at our Greatbase office located at 24 St Stephen Street during our office hours from Monday to Friday free of charge. Please confirm your drop-off time and the collection time if you would like to use this service.
