Old Town Edinburgh, neighbouring the iconic Castle
An Edinburgh World Heritage Site, Ramsey Garden is named for her inaugural resident, esteemed poet Alan Ramsay, who built the original lodge in 1740. The apartment sits atop Castlehill in Edinburgh’s Old Town, a stones throw from the ancient fort, and can count itself among the city’s most exclusive postcodes.
The properties at Ramsay Garden where design as part of the urban renewal of the Old Town by Patrick Geddes in 1890 and incorporate many features of the Arts and Crafts movement. Today they are an iconic part of the city landscape and offer wonderful views from their commanding position next to the Castle. Our property is beautifully furnished throughout from a fabulous waterfall chandelier in the entrance hall to the four-poster bed in the master bedroom. All rooms are large, bright and give an uplifting atmosphere. A small lounge/library off the hall offers a cosy atmosphere where guests can hideaway with a book and relax.
Three beautifully decorated bedrooms provide 2 kingsize double beds and 1 double bed while the 4th master bedroom has the additional enviable features of a huge super kingsize bed, lovely teardrop chandelier, flatscreen TV and fabulous views. All bedrooms promise a luxurious night’s sleep.
The first bathroom features a free-standing roll-top bath with integrated shower head, while the second boasts a walk-in wet area. Both bathrooms feature heated towel rails and underfloor heating. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking at home and has all the usual facilities, dual elevated ovens and a gas cooking range as well as washing machine and dishwasher.
In summary, this is one of our most exclusive Old Town residences. Uniquely situated and finished to extremely high standards, it will serve as the most convenient, comfortable and memorable base for your stay in Scotland’s wonderful capital city.
The location offers stunning views the breadth of Princes street, the New Town and across the Firth of Forth to Fife. The apartment’s central position also means that many of Edinburgh’s premier tourist attractions are just around the corner, from the Castle itself and St Giles Cathedral, the Camera Obscura and the Scotch Whiskey Experience. Furthermore, guests will find themselves spoilt for choice when it comes to the many shops, bars and restaurants along Edinburgh’s Royal Mile, the old high street linking the castle to the Palace of Holyrood.
There is no parking at the apartment. The nearest long-stay car park is at Waverley Station or Castle Terrace car park.
One member of the booking party must be over 25 years old. We reserve the right to vet any booking. We require names and ages of all guests, as well as addresses and ID.
This apartment is not suitable for stag or hen parties. A damage deposit of £500 is required one week before arrival and will be fully refunded pending no damages one week after your departure. Alternatively, can we offer you an insurance policy to cover damages and excess cleaning. The cost of the policy will vary depending on the length of your stay.
