Well it’s only March and the temperature right now may be below freezing but already we’re getting warmed up for Edinburgh’s festival season.
Earlier this month, the Edinburgh International Festival launched their brochure and tickets have now gone on sale.
The festival, which runs from 8th to 31st August, showcases global talent in theatre, dance, music, opera and the visual arts. Highlights of this year’s programme include The James Plays by the National Theatre of Scotland and the National Theatre of Great Britian, Owen Wingrave by Benjamin Britten, and Inala by Mark Baldwin. And of course, the Virgin Money fireworks concert – performed by Scottish Chamber Orchestra – will bring the festival to a spectacular close. Always worth sticking around in Edinburgh for this if you can.
So start planning your festival season early. Accommodation in the city usually gets booked up quickly for the summer so make sure you don’t lose out. You can check availability of all our apartments in the capital at www.greatbase.co.uk.
