With Princes Street just a stones' throw away, and an excellent choice of shops, restaurants and cultural attractions right on your doorstep, it represents a superb hub for families, friends, couples, and business travellers visiting the city.
Set in Edinburgh’s elegant New Town, our Thistle Street apartment combines its central location with an atmosphere that is at once cosy and stylish. Bright and welcoming throughout, it is the perfect place to return to after exploring the city’s historic streets, world-class restaurants, and popular tourist destinations.
The location is especially convenient for day to day living, with local cafes, shops, and everyday essentials all within easy walking distance. Stockbridge, Inverleith Park, the wider New Town and the historic old town are all within easy reach, while regular bus routes make travelling, both within the city centre and further afield, a simple and stress free experience.

Interior layout
From the moment you arrive, the hallway gives a pleasant introduction to the apartment, with its soft tones and natural wood flooring creating a warm sense of space.


The living room offers a spacious and relaxed setting, with a pleasing balance of comfort and character. Large windows fill the room with natural light, while plenty of seating arranged around the substantial coffee table creates an easy, lived in feel that makes it simple to unwind, read, or enjoy a quiet evening in. Bookshelves, a cosmetic fireplace and characterful decor throughout give the room a homely energy. (Please note that the fireplace is solely decorative and is not intended for use.)



Connected to the living room, the kitchen and dining area provide a practical and sociable space for cooking and sharing meals. Contemporary kitchen units, generous worktop space and a full range of appliances, including a gas hob, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, and fridge, make it easy to prepare everything from a simple breakfast to a wholesome evening meal. A dining table for 6 sits beside the windows, creating an intimate spot for family meals or providing a slower start to the day with cups of coffee in hand.



The principal bedroom offers a peaceful retreat with a king size bed and its own en-suite shower room. Gentle tones create a snug-feeling atmosphere, while the window welcomes in natural daylight and helps make the mornings feel brighter. It is a comfortable room designed to offer a soothing night’s sleep after a day spent exploring the city.


The second bedroom features a double bed and a similarly soothing style, making it a welcoming space for another couple or solo guests who appreciate extra room. Both bedrooms have been styled with comfort in mind, offering a relaxed place to decompress.


The apartment benefits from two bathrooms, adding welcome convenience for guests staying together. The en-suite shower gives the principal bedroom an added sense of privacy. In addition, the hallway bathroom includes a combination bathtub and shower, offering flexibility whether you want a refreshing rinse or a longer soak.


Towels and linen are supplied. If you need a travel cot and/or high chair for your little one, please request the travel cot and/or high chair at least three days in advance of your arrival date. Be sure to bring your own linen for the travel cot as we do not have the linen for the cot. The travel cot comes equipped with a standard UK lightweight foldable mattress. However, if you prefer an additional mattress for extra comfort, please bring that along as well.
This central Edinburgh holiday apartment is not permitted to host stag or hen parties, nor any other type of party. Smoking is strictly forbidden inside the apartment. Pets are not permitted to visit or stay.

in the heart of Edinburgh’s New Town, Thistle Street offers a remarkably central base, allowing you to enjoy the city’s energy before returning to a quieter spot at the end of the day. You’ll be well placed for George Street, Princes Street, and the wider New Town, along with nearby cafés, independent shops, and handy everyday essentials that make this part of the city so convenient and appealing.
Getting around from Thistle Street is easy, whether you prefer exploring on foot or a quick bus ride across the city. Princes Street is moments away for shopping and castle views, while George Street offers restaurants, bars, and stylish shops, all within less than half a mile. The Old Town — with the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, and National Museum of Scotland — is also easily accessible. Nestled in the New Town, you’re surrounded by Georgian architecture at every turn, with Stockbridge just a 11-minute stroll downhill where you’ll eventually cross paths with the Water of Leith. Prefer not to walk? Catch the 23, 27 and 29 bus routes from stops along Frederick Street and Hanover Street all only a 2-minutes’ walk away, which run efficiently through the Old and New Towns in 10-20 minutes, linking the city’s top spots. Princes Street is also a 5-minute saunter from the flat, giving you a more diverse range of public transportation.
When it comes to food and drink, you’ll find plenty of choice within a 5-minute walk from your doorstep. From relaxed cafés and classic pubs to bakeries, brunch spots, and restaurants serving everything from Scottish dishes to international favourites at places like Dusit, Chez Jules, Fishers in the City, Rosa’s Thai, Noto (just across the road!) and Bibimbap Edinburgh. Just 12 minutes away on foot, Harvey Nichols and St James’ Quarter beckon for some proper retail therapy, perfect for indulging in a bit of shopping with a smile!

Booking requirements
One member of the booking party must be at least 25 years old.
Important
This accomodation is not suitable for stag or hen parties. A damage deposit of £250 is required prior to arrival and, in the event that there is no damage to the house, will be fully refunded one week after your departure. The building’s intercom buzzer system is currently out of order, so someone from the apartment will need to go downstairs to open the door for any returning guests.
Please note that this apartment is located on the 2nd floor in a residential building with no access to a lift and is accessed via up 2 flights of stairs. Therefore, this property is not wheelchair accessible and not suitable for anyone who has mobility issues. Please also note that there is no dedicated parking at the apartment. If you’re arriving in Edinburgh by car, you may use the pay-and-display on-street parking bays managed by Edinburgh Council.
The fireplace in the living room is entirely decorative and cosmetic, and is not intended for use.
House rules
- This apartment accommodates a maximum of 4 guests. No unregistered guests are allowed to visit or stay overnight.
- Parties, events, and large gatherings of any kind are strictly prohibited. All guests must comply with our other house rules regarding noise and the neighborhood.
- Please do not engage in any anti-social behaviour. Guests must not behave in a way which causes, or is likely to cause, alarm, distress, nuisance or annoyance to any person; or which amounts to harassment of any person; or causes damage to anyone’s property. This includes high levels of noise and drunken or threatening behaviour, which is strictly prohibited.
- No pets are allowed.
- Please be respectful of your neighbours and keep any form of noise to a minimum between the hours of 9:00 pm and 7:30 a.m.
- Strictly no smoking, vaping, candles, or incense burners. Smoking is not permitted both inside the apartment and outside of the apartment building.

Luggage Storage
You are welcome to store your luggage free of charge at our Greatbase Office, located at 24 St Stephen Street, during office hours from Monday to Friday. Please confirm your drop-off and collection time if you would like to use this service.
